Original Artwork's Description

I am often inspired by the birds that surround us especially the Kookaburras.

The Kookaburra symbolism is a sign of positivity. When this spirit animal appears to you, it tells you to laugh, shine, celebrate, and focus on the bright side of life. Also the Kookaburra meaning could be letting you know to seek the warmth of family and friends and reconnect with them. They also encourage us to use laughter as a form of healing.

Fact: Did you know their call is used to establish territory among family groups, most often at dawn and dusk.

Enjoyed painting these 2 lazy birds who are just chillin' and enjoying the day. Painted on a white background so that their personalities shine with an addition of a few insect friends. One for the bird lovers.

Artist Bio

Welcome! I enjoy painting a diverse range of art at my Blue Mountains Studio and Gallery drawing inspiration from the stunning surroundings and its abundance of flora and fauna. My aim is to inspire and bring joy, taking the ordinary and enhancing detail, light and form.

My animals are expressive and quirky at times and my landscapes evoke a sense of tranquility. With delicate, layered brushwork they lend a sense of vitality and depth.

Beginning my art journey in 2008 I started with fantasy watercolors that soon became a channel for expressing my emotions, leaning towards light in the darkness. I quickly became a prolific painter experimenting with different mediums and painting a variety of art, and it felt like I had finally met my inner, creative spirit. My dream of owning my own studio/gallery became a reality in 2012 and to this day I still enjoy meeting and selling to many art lovers.

I participate in a range of group exhibitions, when I can, and have held a variety of successful solo shows. I'm very honored to have gained a number of awards over the years, winning the prestigious Rose Lindsay Art Prize at Blue Mountains Art Fest and won First Prize at BMCAN's NSW Parliament House Exhibition for 'Winter in the Blue Mountains', along with People Choice Awards and Highly Commended. I'm delighted that many of my paintings continue to be held in private and public collections worldwide, along with commissioned art products.

Thank you so much for taking the time to view my art.

With my very best wishes

Linda
