We inherited a female Indian ringneck years ago, she used to sit ontop of her cage all day and never fly anywhere. She never had to be locked away, but she didn't like you to touch her. Her eyes would dilate in and out as they do when I talked to her. In the end I found a male companion and she became an aviary bird, but she was very sweet, Zulu was her name.
