Artwork Description

This vibrant oil painting captures the vivid simplicity of peeled mandarins arranged across a soft, striped blue-and-white fabric, evoking a sense of casual intimacy and everyday beauty. The painter uses rich, textured brushstrokes to highlight the juicy translucency of the fruit, contrasting their saturated orange tones against the cool, undulating fabric background. Scattered white blossoms, possibly orange or citrus flowers, nestle into the composition, subtly nodding to the fruit’s origin and the fleeting nature of seasonal ripeness.

The perspective feels tactile and immediate—almost as though the viewer has just paused mid-snack.

“This piece explores the beauty of simple pleasures—those quiet, sunlit moments that often go unnoticed. The mandarin segments, both whole and peeled, suggest cycles of consumption, nature, and time, while the striped cloth hints at domestic spaces and so to speak, shared fruits of our lbour. Through expressive texture and colour, I aim to elevate the everyday into a sensory celebration, inviting the viewer to linger in the moment and remember the joy found in the ordinary.
