Artwork Description

I painted "Italian Fiesta" for my solo exhibition "Trove: Finding Delicious" where I set out to explore the tropical abundance of the Atherton Tablelands and far north Queensland. The beautiful bold colours and interesting forms of the local region's food and produce drew me in, deepening my passion and appreciation for where I live, and for what nature and our local producers bring forth.
"Italian Fiesta" is one of a series of three paintings which are now available as archival quality
giclee prints that fit together beautifully, capturing the senses and creating an exotic tableau for your home.

These archival quality giclee prints have an image size of 16" x 24" plus a 1" white border all around - total size is 17" x 25" (43.18cm x 63.5cm) and are unframed.

NOTE: The print photographed on the wall is a smaller print which is an artists proof of 12" x 18" only.

As these are signed limited edition prints I have them printed when they are ordered and there is a delay in receiving them back from the printers for signing and posting as I live in a rural area. Please allow an extra week for posting out.

Artist Bio

As a child I was forever busy finding creative opportunities to reinterpret the world around me through painting, drawing, story writing, weaving, print making, leather work and more. You name it I tried it! Anything that the hands and imagination could work together on was my playground.

This playground closed for many decades until a move to the vibrantly beautiful Atherton Tablelands in far north Queensland ignited the desire to play again. Here, as a self-taught painter, my early works captured the colour-filled essence of living in this wonderfuly abundant part of the world.

Following two solo painting exhibitions hosted by the Tablelands Regional Council in 2016 and 2019, I sought to develop my art career further. Enrolling in the Bachelor of Creative Arts - Visual Arts at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), I moved to Toowoomba to study on-campus in 2020.

As an emerging artist at USQ my current studio practice pushes me to explore the driving forces behind my work. Diving deep into my own stories and personal experiences I am experimenting with new ways of expression through painting, drawing and mixed media in a body of work titled the "Evolution Series".

My work has recently been influenced by the trauma of losing my husband to suicide and I am finding new ways of expressing the very human experiences of resilience, courage, forgiveness, gratitude and self-love.
