Artwork Description

At The Edge of Quiet is an original Australian tree painting inspired by those moments when the landscape seems to know a storm is coming before we do.

There is a particular kind of silence that settles across the land before the weather arrives. The light remains warm, the grasses continue to glow and the trees stand quietly beneath a sky that is slowly gathering strength. I’ve always found those moments far more compelling than the storm itself. They hold a quiet anticipation, where everything feels suspended between calm and change.

Rather than depicting a particular place, At The Edge of Quiet reflects the emotional landscape of waiting. The dark, sweeping clouds contrast with the warmth of the land below, while the small cluster of gum trees becomes a quiet reminder of resilience beneath an ever-changing sky. It is a painting about patience, endurance and the beauty found in moments that are often overlooked.

Created in oil on canvas, this original Australian tree painting is professionally framed in natural oak, ready to hang and accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.

Her paintings are created as one-of-a-kind originals, with no prints or reproductions. Each work is developed slowly through layers of oil paint, colour, atmosphere and feeling, offering collectors a quiet place to arrive within the landscape.
