Artwork Description

There are moments when colour seems to glow most strongly against darkness.

Falling Embers grew from that contrast. A solitary tree, lit with warm coral and rose tones, stands beneath a dramatic sky where the last light appears to burn through the darkness.

This Australian tree painting is deliberately pared back, allowing the tree, atmosphere and surrounding space to carry the work. The warm colour of the tree brings a quiet intensity against the deep background, while the shifting light above gives the painting a sense of movement and drama without disturbing its stillness.

Part of the Colours of Silence series, this painting reflects my continuing interest in colour, atmosphere and the emotional presence that can sit within a simple landscape.

Living With This Painting
With its glowing coral tree, deep tonal background and dramatic sky, Falling Embers brings warmth and depth to a room. The rich colour works particularly well against neutral interiors, timber, stone and warmer furnishings, while the darker background gives the painting a strong presence without overwhelming the space.

Framing
Falling Embers is professionally framed and arrives ready to hang and enjoy.

Authenticity & Shipping
Your painting is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity and is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely at its new home.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.

Her paintings are created as one-of-a-kind originals, with no prints or reproductions. Each work is developed slowly through layers of oil paint, colour, atmosphere and feeling, offering collectors a quiet place to arrive within the landscape.
