Artwork Description

There are some trees that make you wonder how they are still standing.

They have weathered storms, drought, wind and time itself, yet somehow continue to greet each new day. I've always been drawn to those trees. They remind me that resilience is rarely dramatic. More often, it is simply the quiet decision to keep going.

The Witness Tree is an original Australian landscape painting exploring strength, hope and the changing moods of weather. A solitary tree stands beneath a vast indigo sky, its weathered form illuminated against gathering clouds. It is a painting about endurance and the quiet certainty that every storm eventually passes.

Painted in oils on canvas, this original artwork measures 130 x 80 cm and is presented in a quality oak floating frame. It arrives ready to hang and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

The artwork is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and will be carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely in its new home.

If this painting is close to what you're looking for but you'd like a different size, colour palette or proportion, I would be delighted to discuss creating a commissioned work inspired by this piece.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.

Her paintings are created as one-of-a-kind originals, with no prints or reproductions. Each work is developed slowly through layers of oil paint, colour, atmosphere and feeling, offering collectors a quiet place to arrive within the landscape.
