When the day is stressful and things just seem to get on top of you, my favourite thing in all the world is an evening walk. It needs to be near water though, the gentle lapping of the little tiny wavelets over the rocks and the diffused light all help to make the days dramas disappear.
When I lived in Sydney and was going to Art School it used to be one of the things that I did often to ground myself and get inspiration for another artistic venture. Nowadays, living on the Gold Coast on the edges of the Hinterland, its not easy to find a peaceful spot, but there is one up the road and round the corner. It has the proverbial ducks on the pond with a gently winding path around the edges. Although a main thoroughfare is just close you can't hear the traffic.
Its my new go to place for a little tranquility.
The painting is on a full sheet of watercolour paper with a one centermetre border left around for ease of framing.
