On a rainy day I sat by the ocean, listening to the waves crashing on the sand, smelling the salty air and contemplating life and everything in between...I find the colours of the ocean deepens when the weather is rainy or stormy and something about the wildness of the waves calms the chaos that sometimes lives inside my head...
A new colour story for this series of abstract beachscapes and landscapes.
I've given myself the freedom to play and experiment in the studio and this has been an intensely satisfying excercise and a fresh new direction for my art. The interesting thing is that I am using the same tools, paint and colours with the results being so different yet still very familiar to my original style. These artworks are created with thick layers of paint and a palette knife.
Artwork sides are painted white.
