Sunset at the Old Jetty was inspired by several photos and video's I saw of the Bussellton Jetty in Western Australia. The 'Old Jetty' still stands and in this piece is framed by the 'New Jetty' juxtaposed against a beautiful, flaming, vibrant sunset which is the real story of the artwork. I wanted to depict colour and movement balanced against man made structures. The power of nature overwhelming the power of man and the built environment. It showcases my love of colour and texture and is layer after layer built up to create depth. It is a massive, statement piece not for the fainthearted. (Note: this piece has a slight flaw in the back of the canvas which does not affect the work but has been accounted for in price).
