Sometimes I simply have to surrender to beauty and solitude, painting for the pure pleasure of a sort of active admiration of Australia's unique landscapes. Located in the Adelaide Hills between Aldgate and Mylor, this private hills hide-away was a recurring inspiration. In this painting I have tried to capture saturated morning colours framed by towering stringy barks and ghost gums.
