I tend to paint using very bright colours. Sometimes it's nice to let tone and line create the movement. This piece was inspired by a surfing trip to the Solomon Islands. It was an overcast day, slate grey sky, crystal clear water, and not a breath of wind. All appearance of the reef beneath and the colour of the water disappeared. And the only thing that stood out was the surface of the water and its reflections. It's intriguing how something so "moveable" and fleeting as a wave can somehow appear to be cast in silver. I couldn't resist though, and managed to hide a few flashes of turquoise strategically in the picture. If it was on your wall, you'd find 'em :D
