Pelicans can be major sticky beaks, and anyone who goes fishing regularly will know this! They are far better 'fisherman' then we will ever be, yet they are quite happy to hang around and pinch the fish we have caught. Fishing can be a hit and miss affair at the best of times and the last thing you need is the local wildlife stealing your catch. This painting is bright, big and in all the beach colours. Pelicans are one of my favourite subjects to paint, they are goofy with so much personality, and I love watching their interactions down on the broadwater where I live. The sides are painted, it's varnished with a wire hanger on the back.
