My wife and I stayed at Lakestone Lodge on the shore of Lake Pukaki in the New Zealand alps in 2017. The Lake takes on a incredible green colour as a result of the glacial water that flows into it from the Tasman Glacier. The variations in wind, sunshine and clouds often results in bands appearing across the surface of the lake. This painting was inspired by those bands.
