The botanicals used to flavour the gin that is depicted are shown in the wall paper background. Citadel is a French gin label and this influenced the colours used in the wall paper. Dramatic lighting highlights a typical gin beverage and additional ingredients make up the composition in the foreground. The composition and painting style owes a debt to Cezánne and as is often the case, I've added an item that reminds me of my mother (the burnished metal dish the lemons sit in).
