Artwork Description

I'd like you to meet "Colours of Autumn in Mount Wilson", another of my creations of the beautiful colours of foliage during autumn high up in the Blue Mountains National Park in the quaint village of Mount Wilson. This is the Cathedral Reserve area of Mt Wilson on the road to Mt Irvine. It's always an amazing sight when the weather turns cold bringing on the foliage of deciduous trees to change colours and hues, which then appear to glow in when the sun shines, adding brilliant colours to the landscape. So to speak a second life.
Original painting created in December 2024 recently added shadows, originally omitted. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Daniel Smith professional watercolours on 100% archival cotton rag. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ settings with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this colourful scene may look on your wall.
Please note: Actual artwork size is: w36.5cm x h27cm I have left a small margin around the artwork for matting.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
