Artwork Description

"Govetts Leap, Blue Mountains" was inspired by another iconic lookout in Blackheath at Govetts Leap Lookout. I love the early afternoon shadows hitting the rugged cliff faces on the left in contrast to the areas alight with afternoon sunlight along the length of the vast Grose Valley. Those cliffs glowing in early afternoon sunshine is a joy to see as well as the sheer panoramic views along the wild Grose Valley, covered with lush vegetation under blue skies with fluffy white clouds.
Original painting created in October 2020. Signed on the front.
Professional Artist quality Acrylics on gallery wrapped stretched canvas, painting continued around the sides. Ready to hang.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
