Artwork Description

Anyone else love beautiful Green Sea Turtles? This is an illustration depicting one of these specimens leaving the white of the paper as background. I love the beautifully coloured patterns of these turtles. An ode to these creatures of the oceans, encountering all manner of hazards from birth, and if they survive become these gentle giants. Beautiful to watch as they make their way through the waters.
Another challenge for me, so different to my usual floral or landscape work, but a joy to create "Green Sea Turtle" all the same.
Original painting created in December 2017. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on 100% archival cotton rag, Arches brand. Requires mat and frame for protection.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
