Hill End Cherishing the Past

"Hill End - Cherishing the Past" is part of my Australian Landscapes paintings of the Central West region of NSW in the old but well preserved mining village of Hill End. I just love the history around these enchanting and quaint villages scattered around the region. This one caught my attention not only because of the lovely old cottage but also the totally crooked and dilapidated paling fence. Hill End also became well known for gold mining during the gold rush period. There are some lovely, well maintained traditional old miners cottages still standing , reminding us of a bygone era. Nowadays, it's tourists which bring life back to these lovely charming villages.
Original painting created in March 2016. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
