Lavender Cottage in Riverina Country

I love being taken for a drive around the countryside, always on the lookout for new natural scenes whilst enjoying the great outdoors. It's been a number of years since our last visit to the beautiful
region of the NSW Riverina, when I took note of this lovely old farm cottage, painted in a kind of blue lavender tones. Under a pastel multicoloured sky, with some large gum trees, and a rickety driveway leading into the block, with lots of shrubs and flowers along with fences and distant cows grazing, I added some lavender plants scattered along the edges of the driveway to finish the picture. Hence the title: "Lavender Cottage in the Riverina".
Original painting created in May 2023. Signed on the front. Ready to hang.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
