Artwork Description

Meet "Sassy Crimson Rosella" the 2nd one in my series. It's actually the same bird we came across on our way to Govetts Leap Lookout. He didn't seem to mind my husband taking pics of him. Such a colourful native bird, sitting on a branch, watching us. After drawing the outline freehand with ink pen, I used watercolours to fill in his figure. Afterwards, I added a few drops of water and dropped in the same colours I used for this beauty. Celebrating his colours so to speak.
Original painting created in December 2023. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on 100% archival cotton rag by Baohong, Master's Choice.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this gorgeous Crimson Rosella may look on your wall.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
