Artwork Description

We were travelling on the Snowy Mountains Highway a couple of years ago, following the Tumut River when we stopped to admire the beautiful vista towards the Snowy Mountains. It was then when I noticed the array of wildflowers displaying their beauty along the roadside. It was quite cold and wet that morning, so seeing these blooming beauties added a lot of cheer to an otherwise dismal day. "Wildflowers along the Snowy Mountains Highway in Spring" is a small artwork, depicting the natural beauty of this region.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
