Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This is a soft contemporary painting inspired by the Simon and Garfunkel song of the 60’s called Homeward Bound. It’s a song about the conflict between wanting to follow your heart but being prevented from doing so by obligations and circumstances. Paul Simon wrote the song about his feelings of being on the road while longing to be at home with his first love. I think these are emotions most of us have felt at some point. This painting is acrylic paint, varnish and ink on stretched canvas. It has many layers of paint, drips, marks and scratches that go towards making a complex interplay of shapes and subtle colours. The collage element in the painting is from the musical score of Homeward Bound. It is signed on the front and back. The sides are painted white. It comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. It is registered on the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists. Registration number provided.
