Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

We humans have equal potential for good and destruction.

The fate of our natural world on which we rely for survival lies heavy in our hands. The fact that so many still see themselves as separate from everything and everyone else is, to me, very alarming. This perceived ‘other’ this other person, other culture, other creature, other being is no less than a part of what you are. Your well-being depends on them, and theirs on you.

In a modern world that fights hard to keep and hold our attention only to bring it back to meaningless superficiality, it can be easy to get pulled in. So easy that a vast part of humanity now wanders through life miserable, medicated and slightly maddened. And when we are there, we know they have won. Miserable, self-absorbed and confused, in constant pursuit of instant gratification, is this where they’d like us to live. Because here, in this disconnect, we are never enough, we never feel whole. And in this state, we spend.

In our natural state, conscious and aware of our profound connection to all life on earth, we are full. We are balanced, connected and comforted in the knowledge that we are never truly alone. We know that we are parts woven into a complex, beautiful tapestry of life and this intrinsically gives us purpose. This fills us up with a sense of gratitude, for having enough and being enough as we are.

Quantum physics tells us that at any given moment there are infinite possible realities. Our time here on earth, both as individuals and collectively is determined by the energy and intention that we put out into the world. We all have a choice of where we place our intention. The future lies in our collective hands.
