I painted this close up of a grass plant I came across on a trip to Taronga Zoo. I enjoyed the challenge of painting the strands of grass falling over and overlapping each other. It is interesting how they all converge towards a single point and unite at the plants centre. It made me reflect on how individually we can be gentle and flexible enough to move with the direction of the wind but together we form a strong and stable base. Both essential qualities to have in our lives.
I painted it using watercolours and used ink to do the line work over it.
