Scarlet Poppies

I have used fluid techniques to create a softer effect for the background with bold non apologetic brush strokes for the poppies. Movement has been achieved by using a 'sketch like element' with black and white accents.

Finished with a coat of gloss varnish, this painting is hooked and wired, ready to hang.

I’m an English artist from the Midlands, who now resides in South Australia in the beautiful Adelaide Hills where I display my work in exhibitions and establishments around the state.

I enjoy selling to art collectors who have bought and commissioned my work not only locally, but interstate and overseas too. To date, I would say the most popular requests are for my animal illustrations and portraiture with I absolutely love to create for my clients.

I also love having fun with using unconventional tools to create lines and patterns across the canvas. Techniques of which I incorporate into my art workshops. Workshops, which I believe, allow a sense of freedom on the canvas, but keep a little bit of order too.

I enjoy practicing both realism and abstract impressionism and believe that constant experimentation and good mistakes on the canvas allow me to evolve as an artist.
