Coffee Pot Florals is an original linocut with watercolour in a limited edition of 4.

A vintage J&G Meakin Aquarius Coffee Pot inspired this artwork, the beautiful shape and sweet details are carved into the lino. Filled with large mallee flowers in a complimentary yellow with the leaves and pods being filled with washes of greens and pinks.

The background is made up of light pink washes of colour filling the spaces between expressive marks and contrasting with the dark table top.

Nicola is a Perth based multi-award winning artist and owner of The Artists Nook a collaborative artists team providing public and community art projects throughout WA. She has a BA Honours in Fine Art Printmaking from Gray’s School of Art in Scotland.

Her art practice encompasses printmaking and painting with a focus on linocut and watercolour. Nature is a constant throughout her work with native flowers and birds as subjects and motifs.

Art Nouveau and stained glass work have been an enduring inspiration and are echoed throughout her pieces. Juxtaposing flat ink against textural and tonal watercolour washes create a tactility in her still life and botanical pieces.
