Weeping Callistemon flowers are the focus of this still life. Flowing and hanging like bottlebrush flowers do, with vibrant flowers and stalks of unopened buds filling the space around the blue vase. Organic ink linework adds structure and a top layer over the washes of watercolour paint. The painting is fisnished with warm yellows and oranges, contrasting with the vase and retaining a sense of light.
The ink lines are built up to hold the watercolour washes and shapes of the subjects, looking a bit like stained glass.
Painted with artists quality materials on 300gsm Arches watercolour paper.
The painting meaures 41.5x52cm and is unframed
