Art is powerful; it has the potential to connect to all of us in so many ways. My inspiration comes from the wonders and complexity of our natural world and I strive to evoke an experience or emotion. I am painting abstract works, and vibrant flowers directly from my surroundings and garden. I love colour and form, and especially stripes to see how relationships between colours affect the overall feeling of the work. The process is always exciting and challenging and I work with acrylic, oils, oil sticks, wax, and surface texture.
Design and visual communications have shaped my former years, from wearable colour accessories to a creative communications agency. Since being knee-high, I’ve only wanted to be working with colour and design. My early memory of colour, was a pink, red and black combination, I was blown away, it stirred something deep within me. I am finding my way back to that feeling of being consumed by colour and bringing joy and evocation to the day.
