The Royal national Park always inspires me. This piece ended up full of gelato-styles pastel colours. For this from the area , it is the view looking east along the Port Hacking River from the Audley Weir. The reward at the end of the track is a great view back to Cronulla. Expressively painted with every brushstroke purposeful yet at ease. The gum trees on a grassy patch are in the foreground and the bush filled mountain or hillside are in the distance with the light hitting the trees of the national park. THe blue Port Hacking River lies between the two with reflections in green. Colours dominant are green pink, pale blue, mauve and the stunning white trunks of Amstralian eucalypt gum trees.

The artwork is oil on primed wood board, and comes professionally framed in natural oak. A relaxed interpretation of a sun lit path to the one of the many stunning beaches of Jervis Bay. (This was Blenheim Beach, in Vincentia). The beautiful gums, white sand and crystal clear waters are so typical of the many beaches on Jervis Bay. This piece was painted in early 2024 after I spent a week or so in this area on the NSW South Coast. This view shows the path / steps down through the trees (gum trees and other beach side foliage).

It’s painted in an impressionistic style, where you can see and appreciate every brushstroke. Along with the obvious blue and green, there is large amount of soft blush pink, aqua ,mauve and charcoal. The sand and the lines in the sand showing the tide can be seen.

An original oil painted on a primed, birch wood art panel using the highest quality materials. I am a passionate landscape artist and get completely absorbed in each piece.

A lovely soft calm artwork, using pastels and impressionistic brush strokes to give beautiful movement in the trees and shadows on the sand. This was taken as the last light of the afternoon setting over the Port Hacking River as seen from the small beach at Swallow Rock, Grays Point. The light and the shadow of the rising hill was stunning. The Royal National Park was painted using brush strokes in a way that is inspired by the great Australian impressionist painters, with particular emphasis on the captivating white trunks of the eucalyptus gum trees, so iconic in the Australian Bush. One of my favourite aspects of the work is the little gum trees (in reality they are huge!) painted on top of the hill (see detail images).

I am passionate about the Australian landscape and I have been painting professionally for 30 years. I hope this artwork conveys the joy I get from painting our land and attempting to captivate its beauty.
