This painting I did to inspire the Black Lives Matter movement. During this time of the year with the riots and protests I decided to paint the feeling I see in some of African community. Even though this is a very empowering time for some, there is always going to be a group of people who don't and aren't as privileged as some others.
In this painting I have tried to enhance the struggle of some African people through the eyes of this little boy. I painted him to look discouraged and somewhat in pain with a worried look. This indicates the struggle of many lives and shows the pain in his eyes without even knowing the rest of his story.
My main intention of this painting was to show the audience that during these hard time we need to focus and support those in the community who are most at risk and most vulnerable.
