Inspired by the patterns created by the movement of water with the tides in the shallow sandbars at the mouth of coastal rivers.
“Sandbar Waves-Set of 3” are 3 original framed abstract paintings that create a lyrical sense of movement and calm at the same time using a palette of blue, green, white, brown. The paintings can be arranged in a line or in other configurations.
The paintings are on a textured artist quality canvas with a fluid painting technique style. This unique artwork cannot be replicated. It is created using various methods to control flow, connections between colours and layering to reveal underlying colours and bring depth to the painting.
The use of materials was designed to capture the bubbling of water as it moves over shallow sands with thin washes of paint used in parts to reveal the canvas and reflect the tactile nature of sand.
