This painting was created for the 2019 Link Housing Community Art Exhibition with the theme of "No place like home".
I feel that 'home' is always an intimate habitat, away from the outside world and I created this intimate, semi-abstract, tropical nature scene which has a vibrant, whimsical night garden feel to it. I used a limited colour palette to give a cohesive aesthetic which will tie in beautifully with interior decor. I used oil pastels over the acrylic to add pattern, texture and definition.
