Autumn Colours was inspired by the maple leaves found in Canberra. They are shown cascading down the artwork as if they are falling off the tree.
After the design was masked out the acrylic inks are placed over water and allowed to spread naturally. Salt was placed over the inks just before it dries to create the speckled pattern. The veins were then painted on with a light wash. The artwork is finished with coats of varnish and then matted professionally. Artwork Size is 24.8 x 20.8 cm and Matted size is 34.2 x 30.8cm.
