Radiance - light from within, dazzling beauty, glow, luminous, glowing. I believe all of these terms aptly describe this lovely 'Cafe au Lait' Dahlia. This flower seems to be a little bit pink, a little bit mauve or lilac. The delicious swirls and curls of the petals take the eye through and around the painting to appreciate the entire image again and again.

I have attempted to recreate it's loveliness, to be enjoyed long after these flowers are out of season, holding the promise of wonderful blooms to come.
The flower petals have been continued around the sides of the canvas (see image).
