Artwork Description

Mixed Media on wood

Signed on the front.

As a life drawing tutor, I wanted to highlight the plight of people working in the arts and, in particular, life models during the Covid pandemic. My goal was to create a piece with a strong and defiant pose, but with a real sense of vulnerability. I've used a 'splattering' technique to represent the unseen Covid 19 virus.
The work is drawn in charcoal on a wooden board, and I have used acrylic paint for the mask and hair. I have varnished the piece, so it doesn't need to be framed behind glass.
