In her recent trip to Indonesia, the artist encountered a vibrant community of Uber Suru travelers—nomads embracing the beauty of an unburdened life. Inspired by their zest for exploration and the positive energy surrounding the concept of emptiness, she felt a shift in her perspective.
In the Western world, the traditional nuclear family often faces the anticipated loneliness that comes after children leave home. However, witnessing the excitement and freedom exuded by these individuals in Indonesia, the artist was invigorated. Their enthusiasm for life, the joy of new experiences, and the eagerness to explore the world inspired her profoundly.
Motivated by this newfound positivity, the artist created an artwork that celebrates the journey of empty nesters.
