England is my birthplace and I loved the tranquility of this scene. Originally painted by John Constable, and known as 'The Hay Wain'. The earliest part of the building is sixteenth century and was lived in by William Lott from 1761 - 1849, a tenant farmer who apparently spent only four nights away from this house in the whole of his life. The cottage is in Flatford, East Bergholt, Suffolk, England.
