This painting was inspired by looking through old family photos recently. It made me feel nostalgic to remember the hot summer days --- how we would play on the lawn with the sprinkler on, running through the cooling spray until we were soaked. There was often a hills hoist clothesline spinning untidily in the background, a dog chasing a ball... and it's always fun to look at the funny, awkward faces of people asked to stop and smile for the camera.
