Living close to the beach with a pooch to walk means I'll be out in all weather conditions and on this particular day the storm was literally closing in from Port Phillip Bay. The scene looked unreal.

In a way, like this moment in time the pandemic felt unreal, and I couldn't help but be reminded of this scene which inspired this artwork. For many there was a lot of uncertainty and we waited for updates like waiting for a storm to hit us. As everyone went into lockdown, there was a lot of pent up energy and I channelled my own energy and mix of emotions into this artwork, painting it entirely with my hands and using a palette knife for finer details. The land echoes the storm, but the light still shines through the sky creating a flash of bright colour on the water.
