My trip overseas to Greece was the inspiration for this painting. When entering the Port of Kalymnos town, I was blown away with the colourful scene in front of me. The architecture of the Italian Occupation between 1912 until 1947 is evident. Kalymnos and the Dodecanese Islands were finally united with mainland Greece in 1947 and since then houses are continuing to be built as they were generations ago.
