Artist Statement: Paintings tell stories. This painting is about all the hopes we have for our tomorrows.
This work is Oil and Acrylic 95cm X 150 cm on Fine Belgian Linen, signed on the front and sent with an artist CV and certificate of authenticity.
The work is sealed with a conservationist Gloss Varnish and is painted on Fine Belgian Linen which provides a beautiful finish for the paint and is long lasting so gives the painting posterity for many hundreds of years and the conservationist quality varnish is essential as it doesn't yellow or crack with light and age and means that you can wipe the painting free of dust with a damp cloth if you need to which will also preserve its life. The painting continues on the sides so if you hang the painting stretched without an exterior frame it will still look lovely from any angle ( see photo - no ugly white sides). I hang all work in my home without an exterior frame as I feel it allows the painting to continue beyond its borders in my mind.
If you decide to add an exterior frame I suggest choosing a frame that matches your home rather than matching the painting. ie if you have natural timber choose a timber frame, if you have a lot of black trim choose a black frame. Note about Framers: Stretching is the frame the painting is "stretched" onto so it can be hung - though the word framing is sometimes used for this. The frame is the exterior around the painting usually in timber, white or black. Framers charges and quality of work varies greatly so you may choose to get a stretching quote from a local framer. All you will need to get a quote for stretching is the size of the painting. If you want the work stretched only ask for a stretching price. If you want an exterior frame you are asking for stretching and framing and will need to choose your frame.
