Artwork Description

After hearing birds twittering away outside my studio I headed out the door with my camera. I caught this female blue wren holding onto a fencing wire and I snapped a photo. When I lowered my camera the bird was gone. In that fleeting moment I took a magical photo that formed the reference to this painting.

Unbelievably, the bird's right leg caught the harsh morning sun and the leg bones can clearly be seen as though it was an X-Ray. Shadows cast over the other uprights on the fence and just a slight sparkle in her eye add complexity to this painting. The out of focus Agapanthus reflect on the wire and slightly on the birds down feathers.

This painting can be framed but is ready to hang.
