Below this is a description from my Facebook page. Please read carefully. This piece is made up of 4 individual pieces. Each being 41cm X 51cm. They can be assembled in any order. Either, as in the first photo. Or in a line. Or framed individually. There is a signature on each. If they are grouped as in the first photo, the width will be 82cm total and the height will be 102 cm total. I have had to ignore the captions for the photos via Bluethumb in order to show you each individual piece. Zany queries, please email me through Bluethumb. It is a beautiful quadriptych. Or four smaller individual ones !!!

I came to Castlemaine seven years ago. Settled in and went exploring. On Mount Alexander, I discovered the abandoned quarries. Silent witnesses to the construction of a Society. Being despoiled by the same. Dumping grounds for lazy pricks who would rather drive the Mount, than front the Tip.
Even in that state, the quarries retain a magic. A hole in the ground carrying the history in the offcuts and the marks registered on their walls. Reminiscent of handprints in the Neolithic Caves. Or skid marks on the Hadron Collider. Gashes upon the land. Clefts across the hills. Enormous mounds reclaiming their spoil. The sweat, laughter and the curses of long dead workers swept away by the wind.
Over the years, like the breakers of stone, I’ve tried to make a mark. Much smaller in scale.A splodger of pigment. Maybe even a vandaliser of landscapes. But my tools are softer, almost silent in their isolation.
Closing on the same disrepair. Observing the builders, as I build an observation. Wreckage!!
