This painting of an African Grey parrot in a rainforest scene is inspired by the wild overgrown gardens in my local neighbourhood. Featuring vines, ferns and frangipani in beautiful hues of blue/grey greens.
I have always been fascinated with natural history books/antique botanical illustrations, and this painting is a modern take on the captivating work of those early illustrators such as Gould and Audubon.
