Contemporary expressive watercolour and acrylic painting of a local bush walk my family and I have been going to recently. I enjoy painting backyard birds in local scenes, and I'm particularly drawn to Currawongs at the moment.

Bush scenes are chaotic things to draw and I find it relaxing to look for little snippets of interest in amongst the disorderly plants, rocks etc. I use a limited colour palette, pattern, negative space and line to organise the layered artwork into a work that is visually cohesive.
