This painting of a pair of magpies is inspired by the overgrown gardens in my local inner city neighbourhood. I like painting "backyard birds" and the local flora I see on my daily walks. This piece in sublime deep blues and lush greens is suggestive of rain, and was painted to lift my spirits because everything is pretty brown and dusty right now in reality.
