This contemporary still life painting features a Monstera Plant and some jade leaves inspired by the plants growing wild in my neighbours' gardens. Sometimes I like to paint from life, and sometimes from memory and imagination, as is the case with this piece. The tablecloth features a motif that runs through much of my work in various incarnations. I enjoy using line to create my images in various weights. Pictorial flatness is a naturally occurring theme in much of my work - this is a throw back to my previous career as a print designer (pre digital).
