The act of finding and creating an arrangement of things to paint outside in the sunshine gives me a deep sense of wellbeing and purpose.
I am drawn to the exotic in the everyday, such as this spotty Begonia plant - grown from a cutting foraged from my industrial neighbourhood, and the Dragonfruit purchased from Woolies.
These objects have been carefully placed in an empty but calculated space where the negative spaces around them are of equal importance to the overall composition and energy of the painting.
