Oil on wood, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This fresh little Alla Prima oil painting features treasures from a collection of Op shop finds that I've been lugging around the planet for the past 25 years. The gum nuts I "community pruned' from a street tree in Enmore.
Although I am better known for my layered works on paper featuring birds and botanicals; painting a still life set up in oils is a challenge I like to set myself every now and then. The medium is so different to my watercolours that it forces me to approach my subject in an entirely different way.
